First Date of released in the UK in Aug 1971 on Ember Records, “‘Experience’ Jimi Hendrix (Original Sound Track From The Feature Length Motion Picture)” was a 4-track album of an unDate of released film of the Albert Hall concert of February 24, 1969.

Ember Records followed this up in March 1972 with the 7-track “More ‘Experience’ Jimi Hendrix (Volume Two)”.
Both releases were produced by Steve Gold and Mike Jeffery.
Subsequent releases either emulate these, or combine both albums, or edit the content – all under the “Experience” (unDate of released) film title in some manner.

Two Albert Hall concerts in February 1969 were the subject of the film. The 1st on the 18th, the 2nd on the 24th – the latter with improved lighting and pre/post concert footage. 4-track recording was by Glyn Johns and film direction by Nick Hague. Two tracks “Little Wing” and “Voodoo Child” became 1971 mixes on “Hendrix In The West” 1972, and the 2000 “Jimi Hendrix Box Set”. On 10th September 2006 these two tracks were part of eight further mono “Nagra”-sourced tracks on an Albert Hall concert covermount by The Sunday Times and not marketed in any manner as “from the film”. 1.37 million copies were covermounts in UK and Ireland only (0.19 million uncirculated). The Nagra and the 4-track were separate recordings of the concert. The film was still in editing stage on Hendrix’s death and went into limbo, becoming the fodder of legal wrangles between creator/financer Gerald Goldstein and Experience Hendrix/HFT. Rating: 4.2
